I just opened The Secret Scrolls in the inbox and it says, "Intend That It Is Going To Be Amazing." I felt that way this afternoon in Target when I was paying for my purchase; destiny unfolded and was witness by dozens of customers. Behind me was a young mother with her toddler in the basket and her mother I assumed. Earlier the mother and I encountered each other in the grocery department. We made eye contact and our souls hailed each other. Smiles. I said hello and she giggled like a little girl and smiled brightly. I admired her brightly colored sari and complemented her. Smiles and giggles from her. A refined, elegant lady I surmised by her accessories and purse. She was definitely not poor.
So as I am securing my wallet and gathering my purchases, the little girl in the shopping cart spies the DVD Frozen on a impulse buy stand. She began pleading with her mother to buy it but the stressed out mom was not feeling her daughter's incessant request. Little girls are dear to my heart and I would tell my daughter Faith when she was little, "God always hears the prayers of little girls". The little girl's cries moved my heart and I shyly offered to pay for the DVD in a discreet manner. But the mother was so shocked by the gesture she was exasperated and replied loudly. "Oh no, you're too kind, I cannot accept! Why would you do that? Oh WOW, you are such a nice man!" Her mother smiled brightly and nodded her head to her daughter's comments. Realizing shoppers and store personnel were watching I quickly explained my personal belief. "It is the custom of my people to bless a child I said loud enough for all to hear. I meant no offense. It is good luck to cause a child to smile and laugh." The mother replied as I walked away, "Sir, you are already blessed because of your kind offer and I wish you much good luck!" The people in the crowded check out lanes let out collective "Ahhs" and "How sweet" comments. I never intended the act of kindness to be known by anyone else. Destiny meant it otherwise.
The moral of the story is that its not about you. Look for those moments when destiny allows you the opportunity to be a blessing. Forget who is looking and whether your actions will be thought inappropriate. I say that because for a moment, I hesitated to be a blessing and we should never do that when Spirit moves us. I "Intend That Every Day Is Going To Be Amazing!"
