 Chapter 3: Protection Magick: Take Care of Yourself & Your Family

Evelyn came to me late in 2006. A midwestern caucasian female, she was dating an African American man who was the father of several sons. According to Evelyn, he was easy on the eyes and financially successful. Females were always throwing their panties at him to get his attention. 

 Evelyn’s involvement with the handsome Don Juan put her up against women motivated to arrest his attention. On her job were three women who had made a pact to destroy Evelyn. One of the three was enamored with Evelyn’s boyfriend and engaged in pursuing him right before Evelyn’s eyes. To add insult to injury, the other female in the trio told my client she was using voodoo against her. Evelyn was frantic on the phone during her first private consultation. “Dr. Kioni, these women have gotten my hair! I saw the woman using scotch tape around my workstation to pick it up! I am so afraid of what they could do to me through my hair. My mama always admonished me to burn my hair when I was a little girl. She said someone could use my hair to hurt or dominate me. She also said that if a bird got my hair to build its nest, I would always have headaches. Help me Dr. Kioni!” 

 A psychic divination revealed Evelyn was suffering from the Evil Eye. Additionally, her hair, dusted with Goofer Dust, had been braided with twisting vines. This was why she could not concentrate at work. Her mind wandered, and she suffered blinding headaches. In a vision, I saw someone using the instrument like a whip against a tree. 

 Evelyn’s case was responded to by the nkisi in Palo Mayombe known as Sarabanda. In parts of West Africa, one must take an oath on Sarabanda’s name in a court of law. He is a powerful ally for justice. He is also a skilled witch doctor and can undo the harm witches have done using their charms against them. Sarabanda rules over technology. You can petition this mighty warrior for success in business and protection. Sarabanda is a fierce warrior but is known as the iron smith. Traditionally the thick forest is his abode. However, this powerful elemental energy is worked by the railroad tracks. 

 Evelyn wrote the names of her enemies on a small sheet of paper three times. Three giant XXX were drawn across their names to symbolize their removal from the client’s life. She placed the name paper in a small glass bottle with vinegar, black domination oil, peppercorn and Vence Batalla. After shaking and praying over the bottle for several days, the client was instructed to smash it discreetly on a remote railroad track. She was to leave a miniature bottle of rum for the spirit with a lit cigar. The women harassing her disappeared from her office within 30 days!

It is not usually my style to respond to public criticism, or allegations about me. However there are times when one must address gossip, slander and libel attacking one’s character. I have been a minister and spiritual practitioner for 48 years. It is an honor to minister to thousands of individuals worldwide, including personally praying with former President Bill Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky affair. I am honored to  be mentored by world leaders in Ifa and Haitian Voodoo. Many books about African American Herbal Magic cite me as a reference. I was also profiled in Christine Wicker’s Not In Kansas Anymore. In addition, I have been a Subject Matter Expert to the Travel Channel's Dead Files, and filmed by National Geographic for inclusion as a cast member in a proposed reality show. You may not know my name, but thousands of individuals on every continent of the world do.

In the past several years, rumors have abounded about my character and spiritual practice. Post on blogs, in social media groups and mass mailings to family, friends and acquaintances alleging misdeeds have proliferated in an attempt to discredit my ministry. I have been open and honest about the missteps I’ve taken in the past. When thousands of petitions were levied against me about the “burning rooster”, I owned the action and provided an explanation. Although that action saved someone from death, I regret going to that extreme. At the time, death was imminent for the client, and my nfumbe (familiar) stated this was the right thing to do. To the uninitiated in Haitian Palo, and other African Traditional Religions, my actions were barbaric. But I ask, is the inhumane slaughter of chickens, cows and pigs for human consumption holy?

At least in my spiritual tradition, as in Judaism, the sacrifice was preceded by prayers and other ceremonial rites. After a thorough investigation by the authorities, no charges were levied against me because the Constitution of the United States protects everyone’s religious freedom, no matter who disagrees with one’s specific mode of worship. In subsequent years, it has been alleged my ex wife and our offspring are mystic killers. It is also alleged that Cat Yronwode and the psychic who lied are ritualist bent on subverting innocent souls into occult practices. These lies are being perpetuated by a disgruntled former client. A CD recording of multiple psychic readings was included to add weight and authority to the allegations. After listening to the recordings, it is clear the psychic reading was fabricated to fit the client’s psychosis. I reached out to Cat, Ms. Letter and the client to arbitrate this issue without success. 

Some client’s attempt to guide the psychic reading according to their phobias about others. I've encountered this before and find the practice distasteful. A skilled reader will recognize this and shut it down. The reader on the recording did not. Instead, she fabricated lie after lie to satiate her client who was seeking validation. I have nothing to hide. I have always been honest with my clients. If a client’s request does not harmonize with my ethics, I tell them and refuse to render assistance. I always attempt to find a solution that is in harmony with the Holy Spirit in me. In the case of this disgruntled client, she initially accepted the solution offered. However, she waited five years after retaining my services to start a campaign to publicly smear my reputation. She has never reached out to me one on one to discuss her complaints.

I have an email from her received during the intake of her case in 2013. In the email she listed several names of individuals on her job she wanted to discredit and destroy. She also stated that another spiritual worker she retained destroyed her life and the lives of her family members. I suggested instead to do protection work to which she reluctantly agreed. It is obvious this lady is unhinged mentally and spiritually. She professes Christianity and yet calls for curses on me and my family. This is her modus operandi and the email is legal precedence of her nefarious intentions.

My purpose for this public missive is to provide a retort to the allegation. I have not harmed this woman or her family. Anyone that knows me intimately will tell you that is not my character. I do not recruit anyone to follow me. I refrained from initiating anyone in Palo Mayombe because I cannot trust other's intentions. I am the Founder and Bishop of the Spiritualist Church of African Traditions Yahweh Worldwide Intl. Inc. (SCATY). SCATY is an online congregation of Christian Mystics and Spiritual Practitioners of African Traditional Religions. We have a closed Facebook Group and a  website for our members. We are a Church without borders or walls. We believe in Yahweh, Almighty God and in his messenger Jesus the Christ. We also embrace various facets of other systems of spirituality according to the individual leading of the Holy Spirit. There is a war going on in the heavens, and we wrestle not against flesh and blood. We are aware this spiritual wickedness in high places possess individuals in order to wage war against God’s chosen. 

In closing, there have been times I have come up out of myself and spoken in anger. Those words were twisted to infer that I seek justice by witchcraft. Nothing is further from the truth. I like any parent and spouse am protective of my love ones. In the early years of my practice, I was hot headed and heavy handed like many spiritual practitioners, but I’ve long matured from childish ways. I am filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. The conviction of God's Spirit has imminent domain over my heart, mind and soul. The Bible says “Be angry, but sin not.” I live my life by this scripture and the Golden Rule. My hands are clean of any wrong doing and my heart is clear. Do not believe the lies for Satan is on the prowl seeking souls he can deceive and devour.

Psalm 140 by David is for anyone suffering a psychic attack from evil people. Print Psalm 140 on parchment paper. Write your petition for justice on the back of the paper. Dress a white kosher candle with olive oil. Place the candle holder containing the candle on top of the Psalm and light. Recite the Incantation 3 times first thing in the morning and before bed at night. Repeat for 3-9 days. Your nemesis will be brought to justice irregardless what manner of evil they are working against you. Have faith for if your hands be clean and your heart is blameless of wrong doing, you will be vindicated and exonerated and all shall see you established. The key to manifesting is found in your belief system. Do you believe in God? Do you love God? You probably answered YES! Yet you have not seen God. You believe in heaven or a place of paradise, but have not seen it, yet you are convinced heaven exists.

I Peter 1:8-9 says if we believe in the Divine we cannot see, we are to rejoice with joy. It is then that we receive the end of our faith. In other words, only when you believe in the inner Presence of the Kingdom of Heaven and your identity as a child of God can you claim the inheritance that is yours.

For example, let's say you get a letter from the lottery commission stating you've hit a secret jackpot. You know the lottery commission exists, and you know the commission awards huge sums of money to the winners. Yet you have no proof other than a written document stating you are about to become wealthy. At that moment you become excited and full of joy, and you begin visualizing all your desires fulfilled. Well, this is the secret to actualize and manifesting. Believe in that which you have not seen, and rejoice knowing it will manifest.

Affirm: "I AM one with the Divine Presence of God within me. I believe in this Presence and rejoice knowing now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen."

Today you may feel neglected, unwanted, and insignificant. Your occupation may not be glamorous and you go through life unknown and no one celebrates your accomplishments.
The Apostle Paul says in I Cor. 12 that God created every part of the body for a specific purpose. The foot cannot say it’s unimportant because it’s not the hand. Nor should the ear feel unimportant because it’s not the eye. The human body requires all its parts in order to work. Even the anus has its responsibility, although it’s a nasty smelly job.

Our society makes us feel unless one is a media star, or the subject of Wendy Williams Hot Topics, your life doesn’t count. The drudgery of everyday living is depressing to many. Yet many don’t consider their part in the body of humanity is important. What if your body didn’t have an asshole for waste elimination? Would you then say the anus is unimportant?

When I was in Hong Kong, a tour guide pointed out that even the mentally disabled have a function in society. No one is allowed to feel insignificant. The mentally challenged and physically disabled have a role in society. Some work as restroom attendants while others pick up litter. All are made to feel they are significant and contribute to society. They accept no free welfare.

The next time you feel unimportant because you aren’t someone famous, remember the analogy about the parts of the body. Whether you are the eye, the hand, an ear or a butt hole, you have a role that’s important.
